Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, and role (buyer or cook).
• Cook profile information: business name, bio, address text, dish photos and descriptions, prices, and weekly availability — all of which cooks choose to make visible to buyers.
• Location: when a buyer searches for nearby cooks, or a cook sets their pickup location, we store a location so search can work. We do not track your location in the background.
• Messages: chat messages between a buyer and a cook are stored so the conversation history is available to both participants. We do not read your messages except as needed to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the service.
• Reviews: star ratings and comments you leave for a cook after messaging them.
• Referral data: which cook invited which other cook, used to track the referral program described in our Terms of Service.
• Device push token: if you allow notifications, a device token used to deliver alerts (e.g. new messages).

What we don't collect

Payment and delivery are arranged directly between buyers and cooks, outside the app. HomeDeli does not process payments, store payment card details, or have visibility into how or when you pay for food.

How we use this information

• To operate core features: search, messaging, menus, reviews, and the referral program.
• To communicate with you about your account or send notifications you've opted into.
• To keep the platform safe (e.g. investigating abuse reports).

Who we share it with

We use Supabase to host our database, authentication, and file storage. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising. Your cook profile, menu, and reviews are visible to any buyer using the app, by design.

Data retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@thehomedeli.com. We'll remove your personal information except where we're required to keep records for legal reasons.

Children's privacy

HomeDeli is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed at children.

Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, access controls on our database) to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change and update the date at the top.
